why the Bible must witness to itself

The Word for today:
Psalm 119:1-24
mark this: Psalm 119:18
Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.
Psalm 119 is the longest chapter of the Bible.
Located smack dab in the middle of your Bible, it's the irreducible kernel of scripture.
Because it's the Bible, talking about the Bible.
It's the truth about the Truth.
***
Reading Psalm 119, we get a black hole effect: words caving back into their genesis, until only one Word remains:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1)
What we might dismiss as redundancy is heard throughout the Bible. It has to be, because while the cosmos, and the truth, and your faith all lean on God, what does God lean on?
God leans on God. His basis is himself:
And God said to Moses, "I AM THAT I AM." (Exodus 3:13-14)
Because "I AM THAT I AM" is all in all (1), faith -- reduced to its essence -- is to take God's word for his Word:
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (2)--
until believing is seeing:
The righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith. (3)
He who has ears to hear, let him hear (4).
